Diablo VT Roadster (Ver. 1), 1995-1998
It’s quite a privilege to be part of a company that not only allows you to view vehicles of the nature on a regular basis but also be part of its history, however small a part that maybe. When you get the opportunity to find such a special car a new home you really do feel an air of responsibility.
Having only made 200 units of this car and even fewer RHD versions (20 in all with only an estimated 14 left on the road) this really is a rare opportunity to own a fantastic example of a classic with real investment potential. Lamborghini began developing the Diablo in 1989 as a replacement for the Countach model, introducing it for sale on January 1991.
The breath taking power is provided by the 5.7 litre, 48 valve version of the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine featuring dual overhead cams and computer-controlled multi-point fuel injection, producing 492 horsepower. Other eye watering stats include an impressive 60 mph in slightly over 4 seconds, with a top speed of 202 miles per hour. As in the Countach, the Diablo was rear wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance.
Lamborghini had actually presented an open-topped concept version of the VT (Viscous Traction) at the 1992 Geneva Auto Show alongside the coupé when the car debuted there, but it was another 3 years before the model saw production. Other than its removable Targa-style carbon fibre roof panel, the vehicle was essentially identical to the coupé, with only a few minor styling differences, mainly in regards to the tail lights between the two models.
The example we have to offer is presented in the superbly ostentatious Bleu Scuro and it is immediately evident from the wonderful condition that this vehicle has been cared for by its 4 previous owners both inside and out. The interior design is executed perfectly with Bleu Scuro carpets, bleu Scuro dash and even the very classy Snowcorn hide seating, is finished with Bleu Scuro piping around the edges. The grandiose colour combinations culminate in the work of art you see in the images we’ve provided.
The service details and old MOT’s to substantiate the mileage are available upon request; also any further images required are also readily available.
